Atmospheric electrical variability in the Tunkinsky District of the Republic of Buryatia
Authors/Creators
Description
We estimate the surface electric field and air ions variability in undisturbed atmospheric conditions in the Tunkinsky District. It is noted, the maximum of the electric field potential gradient is shifted relative to the main maximum by Carnegie curve by ~10 h earlier, and the minimum is observed at night. The diurnal electric field potential gradient at the site "Tunkin Depression" (770 msl) is 103 V/m, and at "Tunka Goltsy" (1440 msl) it is 135 V/m. The content of air ions is antiphase to the potential gradient, the minimum is observed in the afternoon and evening, and at night and morning - the maximum. At the same time, the highest concentrations of air ions of both polarities are observed on the Tunkinsky bald mountains.
