Operationalising Open Research Europe as a collective publishing enterprise - Case study: Open Library of Humanities

The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) commissioned Rob Johnson (Founder and Managing Director, Research Consulting) to provide advice on the organisational and financing model(s) that would operationalise Open Research Europe (ORE) as a collective publishing enterprise as of 2026. As part of this work a series of case studies were developed via a combination of desk research and interviews with representatives of leading non-profit publishing services. This is the case study prepared for the Open Library of Humanities.
