Description

Establishing human centric work places in highly automated and digitized manufacturing plants is very important to increase productivity and quality. However, after successful automation and digitalization, the human factor is often neglected. But it is mandatory to understand how the digital transformation influences existing work places and what can be done for a continuous improvement. This article describes how working conditions could be improved towards optimal employee-centered workplaces. We introduce a methodology that has been successfully used to conduct a structured analysis of the work places and present employee-centered suggestions and recommendations for action to improve the working environment.
