A STUDY OF ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF PUPIL TEACHERS IN RELATION TO LOCUS OF CONTROL

The purpose of this paper was to examine the relationship between Locus of Control and academic
achievement of male and female under B.Ed pupil teachers of Rohtak district. The study was
conducted on a sample of 120 male and female of B.Ed pupil teachers, from B.Ed colleges of
Rohtak district. Then adaptation of Hasnain and Joshi’s Locus of Control scale was used to assess
the locus of control of the pupil teachers. The result indicated that there was no significant positive
correlation between external locus of control and academic achievement of the pupil teachers.
Futher it was found that male and female of B.Ed pupil teachers having internal Locus of Control
help better academic achievement than male and female of B.Ed pupil teachers their external
Locus of Control.
