‘Ajâ’ib-almakhlûḳât wa gharâ’ib almaujûdât (عجائب المخلوقات و غرائب الموجودات ).

The same literal Persian prose-translation of the first part of Ḳazwînî’s cosmography which is described in G. Flügel ii. pp. 506-508 (styled there تحفة الغرائب ); the Bodleian Cat., Nos. 397 and 398; Rieu ii. p. 462 sq., and W. Pertsch, Berlin Cat., p. 367 sq.; comp. also Ḥ. Khalfa iv. p. 188; Cat. des MSS. et Xylographes, p. 258 ; De Sacy, Chrestomathie Arabe, 1st cd., iii. p. 414 sq. Beginning the same as in the Arabic original, and in the copies of Vienna, the British Museum, and the Bodleian Library, viz.: العظمة لك و الكبرياء لجلالك اللّهمّ الخ . According to the colophon of the second Vienna copy this translation was completed in the month Jumâdâ I, A.H. 890 (A.D. 1485, May, June).

Ḳazwînî’s name runs here as in most of the abovementioned copies: زكريّا بن محمّد بن محمود الكمونى القزوينى . The dedication to ‘Izz-aldîn Shâhûr bin ‘Uthmân, mentioned by Rieu, loc. cit., is found neither in this nor in the following copy. This Persian version has been printed in Ṭaharân, A.H. 1264 (A.D. 1848).
