Based on the results from the 2020-2021 ISB survey, Biocurators contribute to a wide range of scholarly outputs other than traditional ones such as manuscripts, presentations, and grant funding. Furthermore, biocurators play leadership roles in various capacities that enhance the research process. However, only half of the survey respondents reported being promoted during their careers. The objective of this workshop is to determine ways the ISB can assist Biocurators in our community with career progression. At this workshop, we:
- Provided an overview of and discuss varying job titles and roles of Biocurators
- Introduced contributor roles and ways we can get better credit and attribution for our work
- Provided an overview of different ways to track metrics/share scholarly products More information here: https://www.biocuration.org/careers-in-biocuration-workshop-september-21st-2022/
