CARACTERIZAÇÃO DO PATRIMÔNIO ESPELEOLÓGICO DO PARQUE NACIONAL DAS SEMPRE VIVAS (MG)

Description

This paper aims to present the data collected in the speleological prospection stage of the project "Characterization of the Speleological Heritage of the Parque Nacional das Sempre Vivas", referring to the Term of Commitment for Speleological Compensation (TCCE) nº03/2018. The Sociedade Excursionista e Espeleológica -SEE carried out two prospecting camps in this stage, to identify, register, and record the features based on Chabert e Watson (1981). The qualitative and quantitative analysis of the results of these fields is presented in this document. As a result, 141 speleological features have been found so far, including 115 caves, 21 shelters and 5 abysses. Archeological remains have also been observed in 7 points with the presence of paintings and lithic material. This highlights the importance of investigating and characterizing the cavities present in the Conservation Units of the national territory, in order to give visibility to previously unknown features, guide further studies that address related themes, and expand the knowledge about the physical, biotic, and socio-environmental attributes in the park.
