IMPACT OF DELAYED PRESENTATION ON THE SURGICAL OUTCOME OF EXTRADURAL HEMATOMA IN HEAD TRAUMA PATIENTS
Description
Objectives: To determine the impact of delayed presentation on the surgical outcome of extradural hematoma
Methodology: 119 patients.History and CT Brain plain performed. Favorable and unfavorable outcomes noted at 3mo follow-up.
Results:Unfavorable outcome seen in 37.8% with delayed presentation. Severe disability and vegetative state seen in 26.1% and 7.6%
Conclusion: Unfavorable surgical outcome of extradural hematoma is seen in patients with late presentation
