Switching of research interest in careers and its impact on research performance – a gender perspective

Description
We find that the possible relation between changes in research interest during careers and research performance deserve further investigation. To what degree is the pattern dependent on gender? The tendency to shift interest might be different, and the effects of doing so might differ as well. To switch or not might lead to different research performance. Males and females might have different preferences in this choice.
