Description

In this white paper we address the scholarly community of historians. We argue that replication, or in more precise terminology: reproduction, is possible in historiography, and that it deserves a place in historical practice. Historical reproduction will complement and improve existing mechanisms of historical quality control such as referencing and peer review. Moreover, it will help to uncover the rules guiding historical work and will, in turn, improve the degree of methodological articulation and sophistication of historians.
