MORPHOMETRIC CHARACTERISTICS OF KISHCHAY BASIN AND ITS EFFECT ON STREAMS ACTIVITY

Authors/Creators

Description

Our research area is the Kishchay Basin, located in the central part of the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, located in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Kishchay is one of the most flooded river basins not only in Azerbaijan, but also in Europe. The intensity of exomorphogenesis processes in the basin affects the morphogenetic stress. In this small research work, the morphometric features of the Kishchay basin - vertical division, horizontal division, inclination of the slopes, directions and the intensity of the relief-forming processes taking place in them were analyzed, tabulated, and a map-scheme was prepared. The degree of morphometric stress was determined and the relationship between flood foci and morphometric stress was determined. Determining the morphometric stress in predicting floods, which are a destructive natural phenomenon, in their management.
