Description

apersched v1.0.0 is the first stable release of the program used to generate WSRT schedule for Apertif timing and imaging surveys. The programs generate a schedule in the form of a csv file, and a png file for visualization of the observed fields.

Input

The user specifies the following to generate an observing schedule:

  • name of file that contains list of possible fields to observe;
  • (imaging) name of file that contains list of previously observed fields;
  • start time of the observations, specified in UTC, for example 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS';
  • output string which will be appended to the csv and png file names;
  • schedule length in days;
  • minimum allowed sun distance;
  • (timing) minimum allowed declination for field selection.

Output

The program creates:

  • a csv file formatted in the manner of an Apertif scheduling parameter file,
  • a png file of the fields to be observed.
