ABSTRACT
Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an acquired antibody-mediated thrombophilia that prevails in middle-aged women, with obstetric complications and frequent vascular thrombosis as its main manifestations; the last being the main manifestation in male and older patients, which must be treated in a timely manner. We present the case of a 63-year-old patient who has a history of pulmonary embolism (PE), and is admitted with clinical data suggestive of recurrence, in whom a diagnostic approach for APS is started and in the absence of other risk factors for PE, it is decided to start of timely treatment.
