D3.1 Initial specifications on wearable sensors and gear for First Responders
Authors/Creators
Description
This document describes the progress of the effort of RESPOND-A WP3 partners towards the development of a system that will allow the monitoring of the status (health, activity, position, environment) of First Responders (FRs) by a Command & Control Centre (C&C). This system is comprised by numerous wearable sensors, embedded to the First Responders’ suits, gathering real time data, which are sent to remote C&C centres for further processing. These sensors data are inputs to applications that are used by the C&C centres to improve the safety of FRs, by providing a real time status of their health, position and environmental conditions, enabling better strategic decisions and timely response in the case of an emergency.
