The article is devoted to improving the professional training of foreign students – future aviation engineers. It’s established that one of the features of their professional training is the implementation of the individual educational trajectory of each student. It provides for the formation of students not only professionally important qualities, but also Soft Skills, emphasizing the personality of each student. Proves that the most important qualities (Soft Skills) that aeronautical engineers need to carry out effective professional activities include: analytical and business skills, mathematical and critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, language skills. The most popular skills of interpersonal communication are singled out: creativity, cooperation, adaptability, emotional intelligence, ability to persuade. Theoretically substantiates and experimentally proves the need to form in foreign students – future aviation engineers such qualities as: stress resistance, flexibility, tolerance for uncertainty, ability to work in a team, ability to think outside the box and make professional decisions in difficult uncertain situations, ability to remember significant amounts of information and find the best way out of an unusual situation with minimal time and effort, the ability to articulate tasks, etc.
