Description

Contribute to the increased understanding of the innovation system building processes in agricultural biotechnology in the context of a developing country. The study will shed more light on the system building processes for the accelerated diffusion and adoption of agricultural biotechnology products. In addition to this, the study will contribute to TIS literature through the proposition of a system building framework for agricultural biotechnology in a developing country context.

 

Provide increased understanding of the hindering factors/ barriers affecting the adoption and diffusion of the technology. The study will present and analyze challenges faced by actors (emerging niche actors) within the ABTIS. The study will provide insight on how  agricultural biotechnology can contribute towards a more sustainable and diversified crop breeding techniques in Kenya.

 

Generate empirical knowledge on how different external/ landscape factors influence the adoption and diffusion of GM crops in a developing country context. This will provide a better understanding on the TIS macro level analysis in a developing country context.
