Description

We dedicate this article to the study of the influence of the old Germanic languages on French concerning the contribution of lexicological, phonetic and syntactic order. The purpose of this work is to delimit the real importance of the Germanic superstrate on the gestation of French. Furthermore, an attempt is made to make a comparison with other Romance languages to demonstrate the greater influence of the Germanic languages on French than on the other Romance languages.
