Although the watershed has historically experienced frequent fire, the 2018 Mendocino Complex, which was the largest wildfire complex in state history, burned approximately 40% of the watershed, sparking concerns about drinking water quality and lake ecosystem health. This analysis spans approximately 1968-2021.
