Negation in language motivated by the subject of the unconscious
Description
[In English below.]

This conference paper essentially draws on what my ongoing MA research has already yielded as to a kind of negation that is motivated by the subject of the unconscious. It has different names. One of them is denegation (or more precisely, psychological denegation, as I call it). In order to clarify—and try and advance our knowledge of—this concept, it is contrasted with its counterparts within linguistics, such as polemic, descriptive, and metalinguistic negations. A claim is made that a linguistic description of the denegation can be enriched by an understanding of how it emerges psychologically.
Keywords: denegation; language; the unconscious.
