The main aim was to identify the pros and cons of this technique, as allergic reactions to insect bites are an acute problem in the spring and summer period for both adults and children. Apart from the inconvenience of a local reaction (redness, swelling and itching) the allergy has a more severe complication: anaphylactic shock. The article describes methods of immunotherapy with insect venoms and their effectiveness, according to sources found, and also identifies at-risk groups of patients.
