SPREADING Of LIQUIDS ON MERCURY SURFACE

Authors/Creators

Description

The laws of spreading of water containing traces of HCl, H2SO4, HNO3,H3PO4, NaCl, KCl, RbCI, CsCl, and colloidal graphite solution irradiated by X-rays have been studied on Hg surface, and the number of H+ or alkali ions necessary to produce a critical area of 1cm2. has been evaluated. The nature of the spreading forces the significance of Harkin's coefficient controlling the spreading phenomenon have also been discussed.
