Hydrocephalus (Greek:  ὕδωρ- - - from the word "water" +  κεφαλή "head") is a disease characterized by the accumulation of excess spinal fluid in the ventricular system of the brain, which is caused by the secretion of spinal fluid. (cerebral ventricles) Difficulty in reaching the site of absorption (subarachnoid space) into the blood system - occlusive hydrocephalus, or absorption disorder - occurs as a result of areorptive hydrocephalus
