GRAVIMETRIC AND QUANTUM CHEMICAL STUDIES OF L-ASCORBIC ACID AS A CORROSION INHIBITOR OF STEEL 17 GS IN NS4 SOLUTION

Authors/Creators

Description

In this study, the effectiveness of inhibition of l-ascorbic acid in 17GS steel in NS4 medium was studied and quantum chemical calculations of l-ascorbic acid parameters and its transformation products were performed to determine among them the compounds that reduce corrosion rate. It was found that the maximum effect of inhibition (80.95%) is achieved at a concentration of l-ascorbic acid 1 g / l, and possible corrosion inhibitors under these conditions are ascorbate anions and dehydroascorbic acid.
