Description

The PRACE project has the overall objective of preparing for the creation of a persistent pan-European HPC service. Work package 7 within PRACE is titled "Petaflop/s Systems for 2009/2010" and is responsible for providing technical information to the Management Board to facilitate selection of the first Petaflop/s production systems in 2009/2010.
Task 7.5 in WP7 is responsible for drafting the technical requirements for a Petaflop/s system which will be used in the procurement process. The key objective of this deliverable is to provide a consistent specification of technical requirements to be used in the procurement process. This is achieved by defining a template of requirements which can then be applied to different system architectures by adding specific sizing values. This approach has the benefit of being expanded as new architectures as become available.
This document is the first iteration of the task and will be followed by an update in a year.
