SYNTHESIS AND REACTIONS OF α-BROMO-I-isoNITROSO-ACETOPHE- NONE AND α-BROMO-I-isoNITROSO-(p-METHOXY, p-CHLORO, AND p -BROMO)- ACETOPHNONES

α-Bromo-α-isonitroso-acetophenones have been synthesised and characterised. These do not contain oxidising bromine atoms unlike bromo-oxymethylene compounds.
