Description
Fries rearrangement of 2-methyl-4-benzoylphenyl acetate. propionate, butyrate and benzoate yields 2-methyl4-benzoyl-6-acylphenols which are also obtained by the Friedel-Crafts benzoylation of 2-methyl-6-acylphenols.
