Derivatives of Titanium with Compounds having Bidentate Ligands. Part VI. Derivatives with Benzoylacetone
Authors/Creators
Description
The reactions of titanium alkoxides and tetrachloride with benzoylacetone (benz. sc) give products similar to those ob(ained with acetylacetone. TiCl2, (benz. ac)2 reacts with alcohol in presence of ammonia to yield the monomeric Ti (OR)2 (benz. ac)2. which in its turn resets with HCl to furnish the dichloride derivative. The above as well as other properties indicate the monomeric nature of TiCl2 (benz. ac)2 similar to TiCl2 (ac.ac)2.
