Description
A detailed study of the reaction of methyl and ethyl borates with acetic and propionic anhydrides has been carried out. Formation of a tetra-acylato product B2O(OAC)4 under all condition confirms the resuls of Gerrard and co-workers. Formation of the oxygen-bridge product has been confirmed by its reactions with hexylene glycol and pinacol.
