Reduction of Potassium Permanganate by Malonic Acid. Part II. lnfluence of Different Electrolytes on the Reaction Rate

Description

The effect of different acids and salts on the kinetics of the reduction of potassium permanganate by malonic acid has been studied. The reaction is catalysed by HCL and H2SO4. Sodium acetate has a retarding influence at low concentrations, but at higher concentrations the reaction is catalysed.
