Kinetics of the Oxidation of Tartaric Acid by Ce(IV) Sulphate

The kinetics of the oxidation of tartaric acid by eerie sulphate has been studied. The order of the reaction is 1. The values of ∆E and — ∆S have been calculated. The effect of different salts on the rate of reaction has also been studied. Hi' ions in H₂SO₄ have been found to retard the rate of reaction.
