Electrode Photopotential. Part I

The rise and decay curves for photopotentials in the metal/acetophenone system in various solvents have been investigated. The photopotentials have been found to depend on the nature of solvent and electrode material. Pure acetophenone or acetophenone in non-polar solvents does not exhibit any photopotentials. Free-radical formation is concluded to be one of the causes of the photopotential.
