An automated data pipeline using R and GitHub Actions

  • 1. Talarify

Description

In the April 2022 afrimapr community meetup,, Anne Treasure showcased a data pipeline developed for reading data from a Google Form & Spreadsheet to visualise via interactive web apps: R Shiny and Kumu. We looked at steps for setting up non-interactive authorisations to enable automation and integrating with Google Spreadsheets. The workflow is automated using GitHub Actions.

The workflow is currently under development for the ESCALATOR programme (https://escalator.sadilar.org) and forms part of the South African Digital Humanities and Computational Social Sciences Stakeholder Map project (https://escalator.sadilar.org/stakeholder-map/).

To learn more about the workflow or ESCALATOR programme, please contact Anelda van der Walt (escalator@talarify.co.za) or Anne Treasure (dhcss-stakeholdermap@talarify.co.za)
