Addition Compounds of Phosphoryl Chloride and Bromide with Tertiary Amines

Description
Complexes of phosphoryl chloride and bromide have been prepared with pyridine, β- and γ-picolines, quinoline, isoquinoline and piperidine. They have 1 : 3-(POX3 :base) stoichiometry except for the complexes of phosphoryl bromide with pyridine and piperidine which have 1 : 4-stoichiometry. Structures of these complexes have been discussed in the light of their infrared spectra and molar conductance data.
