Description
By means of the method of cyclic and linear voltamperometry in combination with quantum-chemical calculations electrochemical oxidation of glutamic acid in alkaline water solutions on a platinum has been studied. It has been found that the electrooxidation is irreversible in the interval of potential 1,37 - 1,62 V (AG/AgCl) due to the variety of dianion of glutamic acid. On the basis of the obtained experimental results, identification of products of electrooxidation and quantum-chemical calculations, the sequence of electrochemical and chemical stages of oxidation of glutamic acid in alkaline environment, which is controlled by the two-electronic stage of decarbonization of glutamin dianion with the participation of one carbonic group, is proposed.
