Measurement of Hydrogen Ion Concentration in Mixed Solvents

Difficulties in establishment of the universal pH scale based on aqueous solution as a standard have been discussed. Different approaches to measure the hydrogen ion concentration in mixed solvents have been critically examined. A method for the measurement using correction factor based on dilute solution of HClO₄ in mixed solvent as the standard has been recommended for the purpose.
