Description
ABSTRACT
Objectıve: To investigate the degree of conversion of different types of bulk fill CR at two curing distances ( 0mm and 3mm) at three storage times: 0h (immediately after curing) , after 24 hours and after1 month). Materıals and Method: Five different bulk-fill composites: (SDR, Opus Bulk-Fill and i-FLOW Bulk-Fill), and two conventional composites:( Cavex and i-FLOW) were used. Thirty cylindrical samples were made from each material, half of the samples (Group 1=15) were cured at 0mm curing distance and the other (Group 2=15) at 3mm curing distance. After curing the samples were divided into 3 subgroups each of 5 samples: subgroup I were tested to assess the degree of conversion immediately after polymerization, subgroup II after 24h and subgroup III after one month’s storage in distilled water. The degree of conversion was measured by FTIR. The data were statistically analyzed using one way ANOVA. Results: The studied bulk-fill composites at 4mm thickness had adequate DC with decreasing curing distance. Reducing the photo-irradiation distance played an important role in improving DC. DC of samples tested after one month’s storage showed significantly highest value (p< 0.05). Conclusions: Light curing distance and storage times had significant effect on the degree of conversion of the bulk-fill composite like conventional composite. Difference in DC among composite resins was material dependent.
