LA REPRESENTACIÓN DE LA CUESTIÓN CATALANA EN LA PRENSA ESPAÑOLA (EL PRIMER VIAJE DE JOSEP TARRADELLAS A MADRID EN JUNIO DE 1977)
Description
The transition to democracy in Spain was a period of profound changes at the political level. The territorial reorganization of the State was one of the priorities of the post-Franco authorities to respond to the growing demands of the Catalan autonomist movement. In this context, Josep Tarradellas' first trip to Spain had a decisive impact since it began the negotiations that culminated in the resolution of the Catalan problem. This article offers an approach to the position of the press towards Tarradellas's visit to Madrid. For this, the research will be based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the content of the written press, taking the information published in ABC, La Vanguardia and El País.
