Description

Conflicting mating type annotations are frequent in Magnaporthe (Syn. Pyricularia) oryzae literature. Here, we classify the mating types of 14 standard strains and 258 genome samples of Magnaporthe sp. based on the protein structure-based nomenclature of Turgeon & Yoder (2000). We hope that our dataset will help to reduce confusion about mating type nomenclature in Magnaporthales and will facilitate comparisons across studies.
