MORPHOLOGIE NOMINALE EN APRÔ, PARLER AÏZI-KWA

  • 1. Université Félix Houphouët-Boigny

Description

Since Bogny (2006) and Assanvo (2016), we know a little more about the formation of plurals in the Kwa languages of Côte d'Ivoire. For example, based on research carried out by Assanvo, we discover that the pluralization of the noun in Agni is often done by adding a prefix /N_/ to the noun, depending on whether the consonantal root of the latter has the semantic feature [+lenis]. This predisposition, which is typical of Agni speakers, seems different in Aprô. Indeed, given the instability (irregularity) of the plural morpheme, which often occurs in [ɔ̰́], [ṵ̀] or [ḭ̀], it is possible to opt for nominal class remnants. Furthermore, the present study consists in identifying the protoform of the plural.
