5-Phenylazo Salicylaldehyde Complexes of Transition Metals as Potential Semiconductors

The D. C. conductivities of solid metal complexes of transition metal ions Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Mn(II) with phenylazo salicylaldehydes in their pellet form are reported. It is found that semiconducting behaviour is observed only when the complexes get pyrolysed in the range ~310 to 340°K.
