The Challenges of Open Networks: A Report on the Development of a Graph Database for Performing Arts

This article gives a brief insight into the ongoing process of merging multiple legacy databases at the Swiss Archive of the Performing Arts towards one unified graph database. In its second part it raises questions in regard to whether the technical shift from relational to graph databases also can to be understood as a cultural shift, which enables new forms of data-driven narratives.
