Synthesis and Structural Studies of the Complexes M(NCS)2 (NCSTI)2 [M = Cobalt(II), Nickel(II) or Copper(ll)] with Ureas, Amides and Acetanilides

A new series of bimetallic tetrathiocyanate complexes, L₂M(NCS)₂(NCSTI)₂ where M - Co^lI, Ni^lI or Cu^II, L- urea, acetamide (actm), benzamide (bnzm), acetanilide (actn) and bromoacetanilide (Br-actn), have been prepared and characterised by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic moment, infrared and electronic spectral studies. These studies indicate monomeric bridged structure for all the complexes which is further supported by softness calculations.
