Chemical investigation on the seeds of Impatiens balsamina (Fam : Balsaminaceae) afforded a new monoglyceride (-)-(R,Z) glycerol 1-9-octadecenoate in addition to sitosterol, fatty esters (viz, ethyl palmitate, ethyl stearate and ethyl oleate) and fatty acids (viz palmitic, stearic and oleic acids).
