Anion-exchange Extraction of Yttrium(III) and Neodymium(III) from Succinate Solution

Selective separation of Nd^III and Y^III from La^III, Th^IV, U^VI_, Dy^III and Sc^III is achieved by extraction from sodium succinate solution using Aliquat 336 as an extractant. The probable extracted species is \([R_4N^+M(C_4H_4O_2)_2^-\). The results of separation of various synthetic mixtures are reported.
