Description

Key to species of Zentula

1. Hind tibia with dark brown apical zone; postfrons on anterior margin with transverse dark brown zone on each side which touches eye margin and ptilinal suture (zones sometimes connected across mid-line of postfrons, sometimes separate); mesoscutum with pale yellow-grey dorsocentral stripe broadened at transverse suture, abruptly attenuated behind suture; apical scutellar bristle arising from very distinct dark brown spot; N Queensland............................. Z. tropica n. sp.

- Hind tibia with no dark zone on distal half; postfrons without such dark anterior- marginal zones; mesoscutum with pale dorsocentral stripe not narrowed immediately behind suture, but broad and partly divided posteriorly; apical scutellar bristle not arising from well defined brown spot; New South Wales ........................................ Z. vittata McAlpine
