Studies on Mechanism of Ylide initiated Radical Copolymerisation of Methyl Methacrylate with Styrene

THREE mechanisms, namely (i) ternary molecular I complex, (ii) cross-propagation and (iii) corn-plexed radical, have been proposed for the copolymerisation of vinyl monomers in presence of Lewis acids. The copolymerisation of such mono­mers in the presence of ylide is relatively new discipline of polymer science and a few publications in this area have recently^1-4 appeared.
