Description
Genus Chaetolonchaea Czerny, 1934
Chaetolonchaea Czerny, 1934: 26 –27, as subgenus of Earomyia Zetterstedt. Type-species: Lonchaea dasyops Meigen, 1826 by original designation.
Diagnosis. The genus can be distinguished from other Lonchaeinae genera by the following characters: length 4–6 mm, body colour black. Lunule bare; genae wide and setulose; post-stigmatical setae absent; margin of scutellum with additional setulae between the 4 setae, some of these located anterior to the lateral setae, none between apical setae; legs entirely black; femora with strong setae on posterior surface of front and mid femora, and anterior surface of hind femur; wing milky yellow to pale brown; calypteres whitish with yellowish margins and fringes. Male abdomen t5 usually bearing a row of spinules at apex. Male terminalia: surstyli with 1–3 strong prensisetae.
