Complexes of 2 -Thio-3-benzoylhydantoin with some Metal Ions of the First Transition Series

Complexes of Cr^ll, Mn^II, Fe^III, Co^lI Ni^II and Cu^ll with 2-thio-3-benzoylhydantoin have been synthesised. Their structural features have been investigated on the basis of elemental analyses, electronic and infrared spectral data. The ligand field parameters Dq, B and β have been calculated for all the complexes. The ir spectra of the complexes reveal bidentate nature of the ligand and the electronic spectra suggest the octahedral geometry. All the complexes are paramagnetic.
