The critical micelle concentration, degree of dissociation and dissociation constant of samarium soaps (valerate, caproate, caprylate aod caprate) in a mixture of 60% benzene and 40% methanol were determined by using conductometric measurements. The soaps behaved as simple electrolyte in dilute solutions and the CMC was found to decrease with increasing chainlength of the fatty acid constituent of the soap.
