Description
Introgression of domestic cat genes and habitat fragmentation are the main conservation threats for the European wildcat (Felis silvestris silvestris). Highly informative molecular markers combined with advanced statistical approaches were recently used to improve our knowledge on the evolution of the European wildcat populations in Europe and their conservation status. Here were showed some of the results obtained.
